Position Title: Millwork Technician
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Millwork Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Millwork Technician, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication and assembly of custom millwork products. Your expertise will be vital in reading blueprints, cutting and polishing quartz, and laminating plywood panels to create high-quality and visually stunning finished products. The Millwork Technician position is a first-shift position.
Responsibilities:
Read Blueprints: Interpret and analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the required dimensions, materials, and assembly processes for various millwork projects.Cut and Polish Quartz: Utilize precision tools and machinery to accurately cut and shape quartz materials according to design specifications. Ensuring smooth edges and impeccable finishing for a polished final product.Laminate Plywood Panels: Skillfully apply laminates and veneers to plywood panels, adhering to quality standards and design requirements to achieve the desired aesthetic and durability.Fabrication and Assembly: Assemble and construct millwork components using appropriate techniques, ensuring accuracy, stability, and structural integrity in the final product.Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of finished products to guarantee they meet company standards and client expectations in terms of craftsmanship, functionality, and appearance.Equipment Maintenance: Regularly maintain and calibrate machinery and equipment used in the millwork process to ensure safe and efficient operations.Material Management: Manage inventory of raw materials, including quartz, plywood, laminates, and other supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels for ongoing projects.Collaboration: Collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and other team members to discuss project requirements, provide technical expertise, and contribute to design improvements.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working in the millwork shop to maintain a safe and accident-free work environment.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in millwork technology to enhance skills and contribute to process improvements. Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Millwork Technician or in a similar woodworking role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Skilled in using woodworking tools, including cutting equipment, routers, and polishers.
- Familiarity with working with quartz, plywood, laminates, and other millwork materials.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in executing fabrication tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting project deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability in handling unique millwork challenges.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols and practices in a workshop environment.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods during the workday.
