The Customer Service Desk is the first point of contact for incoming patrons. The is one of the most important roles in the stores. As a Customer Service Associate, you are ensuring customer satisfaction by responding to inquiries and concerns. Summary of the position Provides superior customer services by acknowledging all customers encountered, asking if they need assistance, thanking them for choosing HFMP/Mendon Meadows, while scanning their groceries at checkout Responds to customer questions, comments, and/or complaints and defers to the appropriate manager when necessary Accepts and processes customer applications for company loyalty program -Perx Card Processes customers personal checks in accordance with company policies and procedures Sells and cashes New York State lottery transactions in accordance with state law Answers all incoming calls to the store and routes them to the appropriate department or individual in a swift manner Greets all non-customer visitors to the store and notifies the appropriate person that they have a visitor Processes customer returns efficiently and in line with company procedures Helps to maintain a clean store by ensuring service desk, floors, and work areas are sanitary Follows proper techniques when bagging items, ensuring customers are able to carry purchases and following safety protocols, including, but not limited to, separating raw meat from other products Adheres to all state and county regulations regarding the sale of age-restricted products Properly processes, including sorting cash and change, and providing customers with proper change when appropriate, all forms of payment and discounts, including taxation of products, such as cash, EBT, WIC, credit card, coupons, store discount program Maintains a knowledge of weekly sale items Maintains knowledge of product locations throughout the store to respond accurately to customer questions Assists with fast lane and cashier coverage as needed for breaks or call-offs Instruct fast lane cashiers and register cashiers to complete any additional tasks as needed and follow up to ensure completion What we look for in you:Reliability- Regular and predictable attend Must be 18 years of age or older Part-time availability (with at least one weekend day) At minimum, 2 years of friendly and welcoming customer service, and cash office experience Grocery and/or retail experience preferred Exceptional communication skills Highly motivated individual Team player with the ability to work independently at times Ability to multitask Focused and efficient The ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods of time What we can offer you for all your hard work: Medical and Dental Coverage (FT) 401(K) Paid Time Off (FT) Sick Time (PT) Honeoye Falls Marketplace and Mendon Meadows is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
