Job Duties Maintain broad knowledge of customers, product offerings, and services of the organization. Document customer interactions and transactions. Listen attentively to customer needs and concerns; demonstrate empathy and be an advocate for the customer. Accurate processing and data entry of phone, fax and e-mail orders in accordance with cut off times and other time constraints that may exist. Coordinate between sales and production to meet customer deadlines. Maintain good communication channels with product and support staff. Proactively communicate with customers to determine expected delivery date and time. Resolve product or service problems by clarifying customers complaints; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustments; following up to ensure resolution. Travel with outside sales personnel as required promoting customer relations. Assist sales staff with expediting orders and communicate with production regarding orders. Greet customers in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Participate in required internal educational sessions to enhance knowledge of product offerings and job skills. Small project coordination/management. Maintain good communication and good relationships with customers and co-workers. Qualifications High school diploma required; Bachelors degree in business administration or similar preferred. Previous customer service experience required. Good organization skills with a positive work attitude. Strong computer skills, extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite a must, including Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint. Self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects, phones, prioritize workload and work with minimal supervision. Must be able to communicate effectively with professional conduct. Excellent written, verbal and phone communication skills required. Strong geometry and math skills. Need to have good working knowledge of fabrication and installation in order to have good understanding of customer needs; must be detail oriented. Working knowledge of customer door hardware application. Regular and predictable attendance, safe performance of tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the position. Physical Requirements Primarily works in an office environment with controlled climate. Ability to sit for long periods, job is mostly sedentary, caution needs to be taken when lifting files, boxes, and opening file cabinet drawers. To avoid injuries to hands, back and neck, proper ergonomics should be maintained while working at desk/workstation. There are occasional visits to the plant floor that require following plant safety rules.
