Job Description :

As the Customer Support Chemist (Entry), you will support and contribute to the APA Decorative market segment through the development and formulation of new coatings that reflect quality and meet customer requirements. You will be a member of the Automotive Parts and Accessories organization, reporting to the Customer Manager. You will also interact with plant production personnel, Marketing Services, and QA personnel to assist with problem resolution as it pertains to formulation issues. You will support both team and your own as such will work within a dynamic team and will collaborate on documentation and problem resolution.   • You will adhere to all PPG safety protocols and encourage a broad safety culture in a laboratory work environment.
  • Contribute in a team environment, collaborate with team members, and support team engagement initiatives.
  • Communicate results and observations to direct supervisor, as required
  • Maintain an accurate, neat notebook. Document all observations, including unusual results.
  • Demonstrate initiative and drive through accomplishing tasks.
  • You will follow through on mutually agreed upon dates and goals, as well as accept and effectively use feedback.
  • Act consistently with The PPG Way on a daily basis
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related
  • 0 to 3 years of experience which may include internships or similar
  • Desire to build a career in chemical manufacturing, development, or paints/coatings
  • Knowledge of formulization and basic lab experience
