Job Description :
SUMMARY: Prepare and transmit entries, in-bonds, and ISF for ocean and air import shipments. Ensure documentation and CargoWise data is compliant with US Customs regulations. Monitor entries for release and resolve holds and discrepancies. Support Operations team with in-bonds, ISF, and other US Customs matters. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Verify receipt of documents needed for entry (invoice, packing list, bills of lading, etc.). Review documentation for compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.
Work with Operations and customers to resolve documentation issues.
  • Key entry data into CargoWise with an emphasis on accuracy.
  • Transmit entries and entry summaries to Customs. Monitor shipments for
Customs and PGA release. Resolve holds and discrepancies. Update Operations and/or customer on release status
  • Support Operations with in-bond and ISF filing as needed.
  • Audit entries for accu racy of data to ensure correct payment of duties. Enter charges and post invoices for brokerage-only files.
  • Escalate Customs issues to Customs Brokerage Manager as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or minimum two years related experience and/or training in Customs Brokerage; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instru ctions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. OTHER SKILLS: General knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. There is also the need to file records which includes bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting boxes up to 30 lbs. General upkeep is required of the personal work space and department area. It is necessary to climb and descend stairs daily and evacuate the building quickly in case of emergency.
