Location: Charlotte, NC 28202

1 Year contract

NOTE: Onsite in Charlotte - Hybrid model - onsite 3 days a week. **Cybersecurity Automation Engineer ** Automation & Process Improvement: Build and deploy automation scripts using Python and JavaScript to streamline processes and enhance; **Cybersecurity operations – perform vulnerability scanning using tools such as Qualys, Prisma Cloud, Rapid7, and remediate identified vulnerabilities; **Cloud security background; **Prefer candidates with relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, AWS Certified Security). **Critical thinking/problem solving, detail oriented. **Collaborative & highly professional, able to self-manage (does not need constant direction/micromanagement) **Positive attitude, team player, works well with others and excellent time management and able to work well in a matrixed environment. Provide location and interview availability ** Video conference interview - 2 rounds.

Job Title: Cybersecurity Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer with a strong focus on problem-solving, effective communication, and a deep understanding of vulnerability scanning, cloud security, and automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing our cybersecurity infrastructure, developing automation tools, REST API development and testing, and ensuring our systems and processes are secure and efficient. Experience with AWS services, coding languages like Python, Terraform and JavaScript, and the ability to implement security improvements are essential.

Job Responsibilities:

Cybersecurity Operations:

Design, implement, and maintain secure systems and infrastructure.

Perform vulnerability scanning using tools such as Qualys, Prisma Cloud, Rapid7, and remediate identified vulnerabilities.

Develop and implement security reporting and alerting systems to monitor and respond to security events and vulnerabilities

API Development & Testing:

Integrate APIs with internal and external services to enhance security functionality and automation.

Develop and test REST APIs to ensure secure data transmission and access control.

Cloud Security:

Design and implement cloud security solutions within AWS environments, focusing on services like Lambda, ECR, EKS and EC2.

Implement best practices for securing cloud infrastructures and applications.

Conduct risk assessments for cloud-based assets and recommend security improvements.

Automation & Process Improvement:

Build and deploy automation scripts using Python and JavaScript to streamline processes and enhance system security.

Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce human error in cybersecurity workflows.

Security Monitoring:

Utilize security alerting tools like Splunk, ServiceNow, or similar platforms to detect and respond to security incidents.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with cross-functional teams to communicate cybersecurity issues, solutions, and best practices.

Deliver clear and concise reports and documentation on security incidents, system performance, and suggested improvements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Proven experience in REST API development and testing.

Strong knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Prisma, Qualys).

Proficiency with AWS services (Lambda, ECR, EKS, EC2) and cloud security principles.

Expertise in coding languages such as Python, Terraform, and JavaScript.

Experience with security reporting and alerting tools (e.g., Splunk, ServiceNow).

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, AWS Certified Security).

Experience with container security and serverless architectures.

Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST).
