Cybersecurity Project Manager
Location: Poughkeepsie, NY (Hybrid)
Duration: 6-month contract (potential for contract-to-hire)
We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Project Manager to oversee and manage medium to large-scale cybersecurity projects. This role requires expertise in guiding projects through all phases—initiation, planning, design, testing, and delivery—within specified scope, schedule, and budget. Operating in a matrix environment, you will ensure the successful completion of projects that achieve defined business outcomes, from project intake through to closure and transition to operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage cybersecurity projects, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, and budget constraints.
- Drive project phases from initiation to completion, including planning, design, testing, and deployment.
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring seamless transition from initiation to operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure project alignment with business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing and delivering cybersecurity projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- Certifications in Project Management (PMP), Six Sigma, SDLC, or Agile methodologies.
- Deep knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and best practices.
- 7+ years of project management experience in a matrixed or co-sourced environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and demonstrated sound decision-making and assertiveness.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with experience addressing large audiences.
- Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships and effectively serve internal stakeholders.
- Proficient in MS Project and MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the Energy & Utilities or related services industries.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools.
- Proficiency in PPM tools (Jira, ServiceNow, etc.).
- Knowledge of risk management, threat intelligence, and incident response.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
