What You'll Do
  • Lead and manage all phases of dam removal and stream restoration projects, from initial assessment and planning through permitting, design, construction and post-removal monitoring
  • Apply advanced knowledge of stream and restoration techniques to design and implement projects which restore natural hydrology, improve water quality and enhance habitat connectivity
  • Ensure all projects comply with federal, state and local environmental regulations
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight on sediment transport, geomorphic assessments, and ecological monitoring related to dam removal and stream restoration
  • This position requires overseeing the work of others and management of small and complex projects of various types
  • Environmental Senior Project Managers prepare project proposals and budgets (including complex proposals in response to publicly solicited requests for proposals), lead business development initiatives within their operating group(s), serve as a technical resource to junior staff in their area(s) of expertise, review technical deliverables, invoices, and field reports prepared by junior staff
  • Environmental Senior Project Managers may be required to supervise junior staff directly and if so, will be responsible for maintaining a sufficient workload for all junior staff under their supervision
  • This position requires the ability to independently solve day-to-day problems on projects with limited direction or involvement from executive staff. Environmental Senior Project Managers are responsible for daily on-going client interaction, maintaining a client database, and actively participating in business development and client marketing events
  • Physical Demands - Work may include climbing: ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc. You will be required to have close visual acuity. Activities occur inside and outside, and you may be required to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment.
What We're Looking For
  • BS in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field required
  • 10+ years of related experiencee in dam removal and stream restoration project experience, including progressive responsibility and proven track record of project and people management skills
  • In-depth understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes related to dam removal and stream restoration
  • Professional Engineer (PE), or Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner (CERP) license would go a long way
