Our Health team works collaboratively to unravel the intertwined challenges of health care quality, costs, and access. Our team of experts - nurses, physicians, psychologists, economists, sociologists, data scientists, and public health experts - advance evidence and save lives by leading rigorous research and evaluation; results-driven technical assistance and training; and leading-edge data science and technology tools.The selected candidate will collaborate in research, technical assistance, and operations projects funded by Federal Agencies (such as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), among others). The selected candidate will contribute to the analysis of healthcare data and provide support to the project director and/or senior team members on various tasks including querying large datasets including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer claims data, cleaning and imputing data, creating analytic data files according to technical specifications, documenting procedures, conducting quality assurance processes, and performing analyses under the direction of senior members of the team.Use your experience, knowledge, and education to help us deliver on our mission: to contribute to a better, more equitable world.Candidates hired for the position may work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations. This does not include U.S. territories.Responsibilities The responsibilities for the position include:Query large databases including Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payer claims dataConstruct and document analytic data filesCreate customized and presentation-quality reports from data analysis resultsApply quantitative methods and techniques to manage and analyze research dataParticipate in the design of research studiesManage administrative aspects of projectsSupport the preparation of technical procedures and reportsReview work products to ensure quality and consistency of contentQualifications Education, Knowledge, and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Mathematics, or related quantitative analytics field with a minimum of 2 years quantitative research experience in health policy or a related field, OR a Masters degree in quantitative analytics field, health policy, public policy, or public health2 years of experience in SQL/Python/LinuxExperience processing and analyzing Medicare, Medicaid, or other commercial claims dataKnowledge of data analysis and data management techniquesExperience with Snowflake and Databricks preferred, but not required.Skills:Quantitative and qualitative research skillsStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to learn quickly, take direction, and work independentlyAbility to take collaborative and consultative approaches to resolve issuesCreative, professional, and able to take initiativeAbility to collaborate effectively in a virtual work environmentDisclosures:Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
