Job at a Glance: This hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Business Analysis Department (BAD team) at a well-established organization in Columbia, SC. As a Data Analyst, you will focus on running recurring reports, analyzing data, and supporting process improvements for the Information Systems (I/S) business. This position emphasizes collaboration, communication, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights. The role requires a balance of technical and analytical skills, with a primary focus on Excel, Access, and Power BI.

Work Schedule: Hybrid (typically Tuesday/Thursday onsite, subject to business needs)
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:
- Run and review recurring reports for various I/S business topics such as personnel, vendors, costs, budgets, and timekeeping.
- Analyze data to create statistical reports supporting program and process evaluation.
- Maintain databases and extract data for reporting and analysis.
- Perform data entry, data cleaning, and ensure data accuracy.
- Contribute to process improvements and report automation efforts.
- Develop self-serve dashboards in Power BI to enhance efficiency and enable data-driven decision-making.
- Provide customer support and insights based on data analysis and reporting results.
- Document reporting procedures to enable team members to independently execute ad hoc reports.
- Collaborate with a team of analysts to deliver comprehensive data solutions for operational and strategic needs.
Core Duties:
- 40%: Extract and analyze data to identify issues and recommend modifications or solutions.
- 35%: Develop and interpret complex analyses and data compilations.
- 25%: Document processes, design database programs, and maintain reporting systems.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency with Excel, Access, Power BI, and SharePoint.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to use advanced tools for automating reporting processes (e.g., Visual Basic, Macros).
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Familiarity with DB2, SQL, or relational databases.
- Experience with Tableau, SQL, and Power Platform.
- Computer programming knowledge.
- Negotiation or persuasion skills.
- Familiarity with SAS and ICD9/CPT4 coding.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Healthcare, or a related field.
- OR Associate's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field with 2 years of reporting and data analysis experience.
- OR 4 years of reporting and data analysis experience.
Work Experience:
- Required: 2+ years of research and analysis experience.
- Preferred: 4+ years of research and analysis experience.
