Job Description :

A Data Architect constructs and maintains the Enterprise Data Warehouse for use by the O'Reilly Auto Parts enterprise. This team focuses on collaborating with business stakeholders for the development, design and integration of the data produced by the transactional systems into core Enterprise Data Warehouse Databases. The Data Strategy team follows the Kimball methodology of organizing and co-locating data for sourcing, transforming, access and analytics performance. This team leverages Informatica Power Center and Cloud, ER Studio, SQL, and IBM Integrated Analytics System.

Essential Job Functions

  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand their data needs and data required for their analytics.
  • Work with business systems analysts and stakeholders to translate business to technical requirements and problem solve.
  • Collaborate with project teams and cross functional teams to troubleshoot issues and bug-fixes.
  • Collaborate, coach and mentor team members on best practices, code reviews, internal tools, and process improvements.
  • Create data models that are optimized and scalable.
  • Own data architecture from conception and design to implementation and support.
  • Create and update advanced technical documentation and Entity Relational Diagrams.

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology.
  • 6+ years of experience in data warehouse, data migration or integration.
  • Minimum 3 years of lead experience in data warehousing, reporting, and/or migration.
  • Mastery of databases including writing and amending queries in DB/2, Oracle, PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL.
  • People management skills including the ability to provide constructive feedback to analysts and project team members with a focus on accountability and development.
  • Must be comfortable working with stakeholders including business users, architects, project managers, business analysts, developers, test analysts, and production support team.
  • Experience in effectively communicating with a broad base of end users and multiple management layers, including the ability to interact with vendors as needed.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights/weekends.

Desired:

  • Ability to articulate advanced technical concepts and teach others.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodology.
