Job Summary: We are seeking a Data Center Operations Technician responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting critical infrastructure within a data center environment. The role involves hardware installations, network connectivity troubleshooting, break/fix maintenance, power monitoring, and inventory control to ensure smooth data center operations. Key Responsibilities: • Install servers and network equipment into cabinets and racks. • Perform CAT6 and fiber optic patch cabling installations and support. • Troubleshoot Layer 1, 2, and 3 LAN connections. • Conduct break/fix hardware maintenance, including BIOS updates, hard drive replacements, memory upgrades, and RAID controller troubleshooting. • Measure cabinet power load and consumption. • Maintain inventory of servers, components, and cables using DCIM software. • Develop detailed documentation of operations, best practices, and procedures. • Proactively and independently work on projects as needed. Required Qualifications: • Experience in data center operations, hardware installation, and troubleshooting. • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including Layer 1, 2, and 3 troubleshooting. • Hands-on experience with CAT6 and fiber optic cabling. • Familiarity with break/fix maintenance of critical systems. • Knowledge of power load monitoring and cabinet consumption management. • Proficiency in using DCIM software for inventory control. • Strong documentation and process improvement skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working in a mission-critical data center environment. • Certifications related to networking, hardware maintenance, or data center management. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently on projects. • Knowledge of best practices for data center infrastructure and operations.
