Data Center Technician - Dexian DISYS : Job Details

Job Title: Data Center Technician

Location: St. Paul, MN

Duration: 12+ Months (Extension Possible)

Shift is 6 AM - 6 PM, They will work Wednesday-Saturday One week and Thursday-Saturday the next week, alternating.

Description / Summary:

On going support of Data Center / Network Equipment Rooms. Moves/Adds/Changes to servers, routers, switches, and cabling.

Skills & Experience Needed:

2-5 years in the following areas:

• Installation, support and testing of data cables - category 6 cable, fiber, twinax, various power cables and configuration of smart power strips
• Installation, upgrades, and support of hardware such as servers, network, storage - Cisco\HP\Dell\IBM servers, Cisco switches and routers, F5, Checkpoint, DellEMC, NetApp
• Technical support and troubleshooting
• Incident and change management
• Telecommunications - basic understanding
• Previous work in data center environment
• Asset management and asset auditing

Responsibilities:

• Shipping and Receiving of equipment, inventory tracking
• Install/removal/moves new servers, routers, switches and associated cabling
• Cleaning of computer rooms and storage rooms
• Audits and inventory of equipment and small computer parts
• Prepare jobs for night staff
• Create change records
• On-call and respond to Incident tickets
