Desired Skills:
- 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology, ideally some previous Data Center experience
- Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work non-standard business hours that may include weekends and/or holidays.
The main function of a Data Center Technician is to monitor software to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor the system for equipment failure or errors in performance
- Respond to program error messages by finding and correcting problems or terminating the program
- Help programmers and systems analysts test and debug new programs
- Operate spreadsheet programs and other types of software to load and manipulate data and to produce reports
