Business Title: 2903 | Data Engineer Location: Raleigh, NC 27615 Job Type: Contract (6 M) Note: Hybrid Position, Mondays and Fridays are REMOTE (8:00 AM-5:00 PM). Job Description: Immediate need for a talented Data Engineer to support THE CLIENT Global digital transformation by designing, implementing, and optimizing our database architecture and data structures within our Salesforce and SAP ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of database architecture and data integration processes and will be responsible for ensuring that our data structures and warehouses are aligned to support global reporting needs. This position will be collaborating with various business and technical stakeholders like developers, architects, and analysts to deliver high quality data solutions that support our organizations growth and operational efficiency. A key component of this role will be to map, build, test, and maintain database pipeline architectures between Salesforce and SAP. Job Responsibilities: Participate in all phases of the Enterprise Data platform development life cycle as appropriate; including, but not limited to gathering customer requirements, defining technical requirements, creating high level architecture diagrams, data validation etc. Develop new data pipelines and ETL processes, while enhancing the efficiency of existing ones to support our global reporting objectives. Work closely with product managers, developers/architects, and business/reporting analysts to define/sign-off data requirements. Partner with global and regional business cross- functional teams to ensure data alignment across the organization Subject Matter Expert (SME) on data interfaces from/to core platforms supported by Global Digital Team. Create and maintain detailed data models, ER diagrams and data flow diagrams. Oversee the creation of Data mapping and data dictionary documents. Provide clear and visible communication to all stakeholders. Present written recommendations, requirements, and insights to senior leaders and stakeholders, facilitating prioritization and influencing the global roadmap. Skills & Experience: Required Bachelor's degree in relevant field. Ability to work cohesively across departments, building consensus and producing results. Strong project management skills. Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with software development life cycle. Strong organizational abilities, with a track record of successfully completing data-driven initiatives. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word and comfort with large variety of online meeting tools. Strong understanding of relational database concepts. Working knowledge of Salesforce Data/Object model. Experience with cloud base database solutions like Salesforce Data cloud, AWS, Azure, Google, SAP DWC/DataSphere. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, SAC, Power BI. Experience in designing, building, and optimizing ETL/ELT data pipelines to process large datasets. Understanding of best practices for data modeling, including star schemas, snowflake schemas, and data normalization techniques. Strong documentation skills for pipeline design and data flow diagrams. Experience with Salesforce integrations, ETL processes and data migration projects. Fundamental DevOps Practices, including knowledge of unit testing, CI/CD, and repository management. Preferred skills: Understanding of CAN-SPAM and GDPR and other data privacy regulations. Knowledge of SAP, Salesforce, and other critical platforms.
