BGSF has partnered with a real estate investment company, and they are seeking a Data Steward to join their team. This role will be responsible for executing data strategy and fostering a data-driven culture across the organization. The key strategic initiatives will be focused on evaluating the company's data visualization systems and implementing a data management strategy. This position will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and ensuring the integrity of data throughout the data lifecycle and collaborating with various teams to establish data standards, maintain data quality, and facilitate data accessibility while adhering to regulatory requirements. This role requires outstanding communications skills and the ability to establish good working relationships with individuals at all levels of the firm.

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Lead efforts to capture and/or document data requirements within departments and projects.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of Data Governance documents, specifically: Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
  • Support metadata efforts to build a robust data catalog including data definitions, metadata components, data lineage, and changes to data usage.
  • Develop and implement a mechanism to track and report on-going business data risk activities.
  • Assist business partners to maintain and recommend enhancements to business data sets, data standards and procedures.
  • Participate in project meetings acting as a data SME, providing guidance for data standards, data sourcing, and data usage.
  • Coordinate with data-intensive projects to identify business data needs and analytics.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data by implementing and monitoring data quality standards and processes.
  • Implement access controls and security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access and breaches.
  • Influence business partners towards alignment with the company's data vision and strategic data objectives, while building effective working relationships with leaders and business SME's.
  • Collaborate with technical partners to implement, support, and integrate data.
  • Iterate solutions through an adaptive-agile cycle; work with team members to resolve any issues.
  • Demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity, adhere to company's policies and procedures, and comply with applicable laws, government rules and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor Degree in finance, computer science, information technology, data management, or a related field. The position will also require 3+ years' experience in data management, data governance, be proficient in data management tools such as SQL, Salesforce and HubSpot databases, and SQL.
