Database Engineer - RIT Solutions : Job Details

Job Description:In this role as a Database Engineer 4, you will provide expert-level consultation on complex initiatives with large-scale impact in Database Engineering. You will analyze and resolve intricate database engineering challenges that demand a thorough evaluation of multiple factors, including unprecedented or intangible elements. Your responsibilities will include collaborating strategically with internal teams to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, while driving high-impact solutions to meet deliverables.Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth reviews and analyses of multifaceted database engineering projects, identifying and addressing complex issues.
• Contribute to large-scale planning for database engineering initiatives, ensuring a strategic alignment with company goals.
• Regularly monitor database performance to identify issues, including locks and failed updates, ensuring operational efficiency.
• Lead automation initiatives to enhance database management processes and optimize performance.
• Provide 12x7 on-call support as required, with availability for nights, weekends, and holidays when needed.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Database Engineering, demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
• 5+ years of experience in Oracle database administration.

Desired Qualifications:

• 5+ years of PostgreSQL administration experience.
• 5+ years of database engineering experience with a focus on performance tuning and optimization.
• 3+ years of experience with MongoDB, GoldenGate, or Yugabyte.
• 2+ years of performance tuning experience, with the ability to monitor and address database issues proactively.
• Experience leading and implementing automation initiatives to improve database workflows.

Job Expectations:

• Willingness to work a hybrid schedule, including on-site attendance as required.
• This position requires 12x7 on-call support, including potential shifts during nights, weekends, and holidays.
