Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Database Tester to join our team in a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database testing and quality assurance, ensuring the integrity, performance, and reliability of our database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for database applications.
  • Perform data validation, integrity checks, and ensure data quality across various databases.
  • Utilize SQL to write queries for testing and validating data.
  • Conduct ETL testing to verify data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate bug tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to understand requirements and provide insights on database structure and functionality.
  • Conduct performance testing and tuning of database systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Automate repetitive testing tasks using scripting languages and test automation tools.
  • Participate in regular meetings to report progress, provide updates, and discuss testing strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Database Tester or in a similar QA role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with various DBMS (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and tools.
  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner, JMeter).
  • Knowledge of test automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data modeling and database design concepts.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Relevant certifications in database testing or quality assurance (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
