Job Title: DC Project Lead

Location: Santa Clara, CA (onsite)
Duration: 9 Weeks
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and guide a team of Data Center Technicians. Oversee daily operations, set team goals, and ensure SLAs are met.
- Technical Oversight: Provide hands-on technical leadership and oversight of all data center operations, including server, network, and storage equipment.
- Data Center Infrastructure Management: Ensure the optimal performance, uptime, and security of data center infrastructure by proactively managing hardware (Dell, Arista, HPE, Palo Alto Networks, Mellanox) and monitoring systems.
- Capacity Planning & Resource Allocation: Lead capacity planning efforts to support the scaling of resources across compute, storage, and network infrastructure.
- Vendor Management: Work closely with hardware and service vendors to ensure equipment lifecycle management, including procurement, installation, and decommissioning.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices for operational efficiency, including automation, security protocols, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Incident & Problem Management: Lead the troubleshooting of hardware and network issues and collaborate with the team to quickly resolve incidents. Develop strategies to prevent recurring issues.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, including data security policies and regulatory requirements.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of equipment, network configurations, and workflows. Provide regular reports on data center performance, capacity, and operational metrics.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience managing large enterprise data centers, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Dell, Arista, HPE, Palo Alto Networks, and Mellanox equipment.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop a technical team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge Base: Deep understanding of enterprise-grade server, storage, and networking technologies. Familiarity with cloud platforms and hybrid environments is a plus.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex data center issues and implement efficient solutions.
- Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, Dell EMC Proven Professional, HPE ASE, Palo Alto Networks PCNSE, or similar are highly preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate across teams and with external vendors.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for managing data center operations.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong understanding of data center networking architecture, including Layer 2/3 switching, routing, and firewalls.
