Headquartered in New York City with offices in London, Dublin, and Hong Kong, SFM employs about 200 professionals.Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DBA (Database Administrator) to join our mid-sized hedge fund. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with MS SQL Server, Snowflake DB, and other related technologies. The role involves ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of our data infrastructure while supporting efficient data operations. This role will also be involved in all aspects of Cloud Engineering and DevOps.   • Database Management:
    • Design, implement, and maintain the hedge fund's database systems, including monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting.
    • Collaborate with development and operations teams to design and implement effective database solutions that align with business requirements.
    • Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through regular backups, replication, disaster recovery planning, and performance optimization.
    • Identify and address database performance bottlenecks, implementing necessary optimizations and enhancements to maintain efficient system performance.
    • Conduct regular monitoring and tuning activities to ensure optimal database performance and minimize downtime.
    • Proficient in Snowflake. Good understanding of SQL Engine and able to conduct advanced performance tuning.
  • DevOps/Cloud Engineering
    • Excellent knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure
    • Excellent working knowledge of AWS RDS or Azure SQL and Document Data Store (DynamoDb,Mongo)
    • Work closely with the Development and IT Operations teams to provide needed tools and resources.
    • Application Development to enable the organization to move to the cloud using complete automation.
    • Designs and develops fully autonomous ci/cd pipelines which facilitate cloud deployments which includes automation of all infrastructure, services and application build and deployment.
    • Ensures that all parts of the pipeline follow good software engineering practices to include unit tests and infrastructure tests.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a DBA/DevOps role.
  • Excellent working knowledge database technologies including SQL and Snowflake.
  • Excellent knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of designing, developing, and implementing ETL/ELT processes using Snowflake and other related technologies.
  • Experience utilizing and supporting technologies such as Docker, Lambda functions, Terraform CDK, S3, Python, C#, PowerShell, Bash, etc.
  • Familiarity with LogicMonitor, Azure AppInsights, or similar monitoring tool.
  • Working Knowledge of Terraform, Packer, Git, Jira a big plus.
What We Offer
  • We anticipate the base salary of this role to be between $175,000-200,000. In addition to a base salary, the successful candidate will also be eligible to receive a discretionary year-end bonus.
