Job Overview

The Dedicated Aide is responsible for providing educational and behavioral support to students in an atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with a student to help support academic instruction and guide behavior as needed
• Implement prescribed behavioral strategies and positive behavior support
• Support the classroom teachers in providing a learning environment in which students with differing learning modalities may attain success
• Attend and participate in mandatory professional development sessions and meetings
• Remain current with trends, techniques, and advances in technology that are applicable to the program
• Support the bilingual goal of the school by modeling first and second language (Spanish) for all students.
• Maintain the welfare and safety of students by following school regulations and the Positive Behavior Intervention matrix. Serve as a model for appropriate student behavior in the school environment
• Collect daily data to track student progress in the areas of behavior and academics as needed
• Provide feedback to teachers about student behaviors, performance, or any observation relevant to the children.
• Collaborate with the Montessori Teacher, Special Education Teacher, special education service providers (speech, PT, OT), and other Assistant Teachers to address student needs in the classroom
• Participate in school activities: special events, field trips, workshops, etc.
• Provide administrative support to the special education team
• Help with recess, lunch, and transitions
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or 48 college credit hours or have successfully passed the ParaPro Assessment administered by ETS (with a high school diploma or equivalent) preferred
• ABA or RBT training and experience preferred
• Experience working with students with disabilities
• Energetic, flexible, imaginative, and eager to work in a bilingual and multicultural public school
• English fluency required; Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Schedule: 10-month full-time positionSalary: $33,619 - $55,567

Compensation
