You will collaborate onsite at our La Farge, WI office for 4-8 days per month, and therest of the time you can choose to work remotely or onsite. We aredriven by our mission to promote regional farm diversity and economic stabilityby the means of organic agricultural methods and the sale of certified organicproducts.Summary of RoleThe Deduction and Cash Application Associate is responsible for ensuring accurate reconciliation of customer payments, processing of deductions, identifying and analyzing short payments and assigning promotional activities to the appropriate programs. This role provides support to various departments including Sales, Accounting, Customer Experience, Marketing, Finance, and Trade Promotions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities•Manages customer deductions to improve cash flow and reduce past dues. Identify, investigate, and analyze customer deductions, ensuring compliance with CROPP Trade Partner Policy guidelines.•Ensure only authorized deductions are granted and process denials for unauthorized deductions.•Request and process return orders for short payments of customer invoices.•Apply payments to customer balances or GL accounts, create deductions, handle overpayments, resolve unidentified funds and maintain documentation for daily cash receipts.•Process payment requests for trade promotion invoices, including expense validation, coding, and vendor setup. •Initiate collection calls for denied deductions and keep management informed of issues.•Resolve open credit and debit memos to ensure accurate customer balances.•Identify deduction trends and collaborate with brokers, customers, and internal teams to address root causes.•Utilize various tools (e.g., Business Objects, Transportation Management System, customer portals, OnBase, ERP system) for deduction research and settlement.•Respond to inquiries from the Sales team regarding customer promotional activity.•Respond to inquiries directly from customers or through Customer Experience regarding billing issues.•Assist with researching past due invoices.•Help maintain and balance month-end reconciliations of General Ledger accounts.•Prepare journal entries as needed.Additional Duties and Responsibilities•Troubleshoot issues throughout the day to ensure smooth operations and timely resolution of problems.•Crosstrain with existing employees to ensure proper workload coverage. Assist with training and development of new personnel.•Ensures adherence to cooperative policies and safety procedures.•Other duties as assigned by supervisor.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities•Associate's degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred.•Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel and ERP systems.•Practical accounting skills and experience in retail food deduction management.•Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.•Limited travel to other cooperative facilities or to additional training sites may be required.Base hourly wage range: $16.30 - $22.40 per hourThis hourly wage rangeis exclusive of fringe benefits. The compensation package may also includeincentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses. Ifyou are hired at CROPP, your final base hourly wage compensation will be determinedbased on factors such as skills, education, and/orexperience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity andconsider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any finaloffer.
