The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full time, Information Technology (IT) Specialist, (GG-2210-13), to perform as the Defense Cyberspace Operations Chief and Lead Information Systems Security Officer,(ISSO), with an additional role as the Assistant Cybersecurity Branch Chief, at the 318th Cyberspace Operations Group (COG), Operating Location “B” (OL-B), Norfolk Naval Station, Norfolk, Virginia.
Salary ($104,887 - $136,357) based on experience.
Relocation expenses may be paid.
This position is a Cyber Excepted Service (CES) position implemented under Section 1599F, Title 10 UnitedStates Code (USC).
Required 3-year probationary period for new Federal government appointments.
CES applies and documents Veterans' Preference IAW Department of Defense (DoDI) 1400.25, Volume 3005.

In this position you will serve as Assistant Director of Operations (ADO) of the 318 COG OL-B, Joint Information Operations Range (JIOR). The position will also serve as the Environment Operations Branch Deputy, and Current Operations Chief.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.• Must be able to obtain & maintain a “Top Secret / SCI” Security clearance.• This position is designated as a Drug Test Designated Position.• This position requires at a minimum, a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience• This position includes Cyberspace work and requires foundational qualification requirements within 9 months ofassignment and resident qualification requirements within 12 months.• Extensive and in-depth knowledge of IT security principles, policies, products and services to assess risk factors and advise on vulnerability to attack from a variety of sources (e.g. destructive programs/applications/viruses, unauthorized access, disruption of services, espionage) and procedures and methods for protection of systems and applications.• Advanced knowledge of IT security principles, concepts, practices, systems software, database software, and immediate access storage technology to carry out activities leading to security certification or accreditation.• Expert-level knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to independently review, analyze, and resolve difficult and complex cybersecurity problems.• Expert-level knowledge of commonly applied telecommunications principles, concepts, and methodologies, operating characteristics and capabilities of systems, media, equipment, and related software systems, processes and procedures to assess the cybersecurity of operations and make recommendations involving equipment and system security.• Knowledge of a broad range of IT cybersecurity principles, concepts, and methods to investigate, analyze, and respond to cyber incidents within a computer network environment or enclave.• Ability to effectively negotiate complex issues and maintain good working relationships with key individuals/groups both inside and outside immediate work unit.
