Pension Planning Consultants (PPC) has been a full service TPA headquartered in Albuquerque, NM with employees in 17 states since 1971. PPC focuses on client services and quality work.

USRBP is hiring a Defined Contributions Administrator for our Partner Firm, Pension Planning Consultants located in Albuquerque, NM.

Position Overview:

The Defined Contributions Administrator will assist a staff of Pension Administrators with the responsibilities listed below while learning the work of pension administration and the supporting software programs. This is an entry level position which can start a motivated candidate on the path to a fulfilling career.

A candidate with the qualifications listed below, and a sincere desire to learn, will be taught all of the regulations and processes. The successful candidate will, over time, grow into a Pension Administrator, which will include studying for and passing exams that qualify for designations from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA).

Responsibilities include:

  • Ability to consult with clients on the requirements of all types of loans and distributions
  • Learn the different types of distributions and the rules for each (Termination, In Service, Hardship, Death, and Required Minimums)
  • Using the criteria that are specific to the plan, determine a participant's eligibility for loans and allowable amounts
  • Coordinate the processing with the Support Services Department
  • Perform basic Trust Accounting
  • Reconcile client's deposits and withdrawals
  • Read and record activity from brokerage statements
  • Reconcile loan payments to amortization schedules
  • Learn the specific rules for various types of nontraditional assets
  • Manage a client load of Solo 401(k) Plans
  • Draft new plan documents on template software
  • Consult with clients on various plan issues
  • Collaborate with asset custodian
  • Prepare IRS Form 5500-EZ
  • Manage client deadlines
  • Assemble Annual Reports for either paper or electronic delivery
  • Submit accurate and timely billings

Qualification Include:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written
  • Desire to help clients and provide excellent customer service
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to create, edit, and modify documents in Word, Excel, and Adobe
  • Willing and able to follow directions and established procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret legal plan documents
  • Ability to apply regulations to various fact patterns
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks
  • Able to work efficiently and provide good turnaround times
  • Work well with others
  • Prior work or knowledge of qualified plans a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
