Description POSITION SUMMARY Perform duties which combine operating the cash register and preparing and serving food menu items. Hiring for full and part time. The shifts will include mornings, evenings, weekends, and Holidays. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Take and fill food orders for customers in the Wotapi Deli which specializes in fast service and inexpensive dine-in or carry-out food. • Makes change, accepts checks for the amount of purchase only, and issues receipts or tickets to customers with the customers name identified on the stub. • Must know all menu items and be able to assist customers through a description of items and specials. • Must help clean and organize eating, service, and kitchen areas by washing/wiping tables, sweeping and mopping floors and emptying garbage. • Notify supervisor or manager of shortages or special orders. • Communicate with customers regarding orders, comments, and complaints. • Prepare daily food items, and cook simple foods and beverages, such as sandwiches, salads, soups, pizza, or coffee, using proper safety precautions and sanitary measures. Must know how to prepare all menu items. • Select food items from serving or storage areas and place them in dishes, on serving trays, or in take-out containers. • Relay food orders to cooks. • Prepare and serve cold drinks, or frozen milk drinks or desserts, using drink-dispensing, milkshake, or frozencustard machines. • Collect and return dirty dishes to the kitchen for washing. • Cook or reheat food items such as french fries. • Gives cash refunds or issues credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise. • Knowledge of all equipment and responsible for cleaning all equipment. • Be aware of food quality standards and menu manuals. Know how long to hold food to ensure food quality. Utilizeleftovers and reduce over-production; report waste to Deli Supervisors and/or Manager. Requirements SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred Experience: 2 plus months of experience in food preparation and cash handling Certifications & Licenses: Must pass State and Federal Background check and pre-employment drug screen.
