Senior Director of Delivery (Software and Integration) - roadside or transportation technology (ITS)

Location: Frisco, TX

Position Summary

The Senior Director Roadside Delivery (Software and Integration) will oversee the design, implementation, and integration of software systems. This role focuses on leading the development and deployment of advanced roadside technology solutions, ensuring seamless integration between hardware, software, and backend systems. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, improve operational efficiencies, and enhance customer experiences through technology.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, systems integration, or technology leadership, with a focus on roadside or transportation technology preferred.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale software and integration projects.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in software development methodologies, system integration, and API management.
  • Strong knowledge of IoT technologies, real-time data processing, and cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with roadside tolling systems, such as automated vehicle identification, dynamic pricing, and traffic monitoring technologies.
  • Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and data privacy compliance (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR).

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy and Leadership

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for software systems and integration that aligns with the company's technology roadmap.
  • Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies and trends to improve roadside tolling operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and executive leadership to align software solutions with organizational goals.

Software Development and Integration

  • Oversee the development and integration of roadside tolling software, including real-time data processing, toll collection, and monitoring systems.
  • Ensure seamless interoperability between hardware (e.g., cameras, sensors, gantries) and software platforms.
  • Partner with IT teams to integrate roadside systems with central tolling and customer service platforms.
  • Implement scalable, cloud-based solutions to support tolling operations and data analytics.

Operational Excellence

  • Establish and manage KPIs for software performance, reliability, and uptime.
  • Lead efforts to troubleshoot and resolve software-related system issues quickly and effectively.
  • Drive continuous improvement by monitoring performance, identifying gaps, and implementing upgrades or optimizations.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of software developers, integration engineers, and system architects.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence within the delivery team.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with software vendors and technology providers to implement and maintain high-quality roadside solutions.
  • Manage relationships with hardware suppliers to ensure seamless integration with software platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, operations, and customer service, to align roadside technology initiatives with broader organizational needs.

Compliance and Security

  • Ensure all software and roadside systems comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Implement robust data security measures to protect sensitive customer and operational information.

Financial Oversight

  • Develop and manage the budget for roadside software development and integration projects.
  • Drive cost efficiencies by optimizing system performance and vendor partnerships.
