Delivery Driver (Seasonal) - Yellowstone Forever : Job Details

Position: Delivery Driver Location: Gardiner, MontanaReports To: Warehouse and Logistics ManagerStatus: Full-Time / Seasonal / Non-Exempt Compensation: $19.00 - $21.10 hourlyDates: March/April through October (Flexible start date)Summary Description:Yellowstone Forever (YF) is the official nonprofit partner of Yellowstone National Park. YF's operations include Park Stores in and around Yellowstone; the Yellowstone Forever Institute, which offers in-depth educational programing for people of all ages; and a supporter program which raises funds for priority park projects.The Retail Warehouse team of YF is focused on delivering exceptional experiences in our stores both in the park and in surrounding areas. The Delivery Driver plays a critical role in Yellowstone Forever's operations, working with other warehouse staff and park store associates to ship product from the warehouse to Yellowstone Forever Park Stores. The Delivery Driver must enjoy the physical challenges of this job, be detail oriented and accurate, have good communication skills, and maintain a positive attitude during very busy periods of seasonal operations.Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of product using a warehouse cargo truck, including wholesale orders to gateway communities

• Prepare all transfer orders utilizing the warehouse management system to include picking, packing the merchandise, and loading the truck in preparation for delivery to stores

• Wrap, box, pack, label, palletize, load, and secure merchandise in delivery trucks using appropriate tools and following relevant procedures and standards
• Carefully handle fragile merchandise, ensuring minimal loss to breakage
• Report any impaired or damaged merchandise items and place damaged merchandise in the appropriate bin
• Pick up cardboard and empty bins from park store locations throughout delivery route
• Safely operate mechanized inventory handling equipment, including carts, pallet jacks, dock lifts, and walking-stacker forklift
• Safely operate motor vehicles, driving up to 200 miles per day to make deliveries
• Perform basic truck or vehicle maintenance and pre-trip checklist
• Ability to independently perform work duties with minimal supervision
• Assist in the shared duty of mail run and other deliveries as needed
• Complete warehouse duties when not making deliveries
• Effectively communicate warehouse-related information across the organization, to the National Park Service, and to all Park partners
• Represent YF and its mission accurately and positively
• Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment with YF employees, volunteers, and partners

• Travel into Yellowstone, throughout the Greater Yellowstone area, as required

• Other tasks as assigned by Warehouse Manager, or other designated leadership

Basic Qualifications:

• No traffic violations
• Ability to remain calm and composed when driving in variable and congested driving conditions
• Willingness to adhere to schedules, safety procedures and transportation laws
• Great physical stamina and manual dexterity
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to lift boxes/equipment weighing up to 40 pounds (with support of lift equipment)
• Ability to stand and sit for extended periods
• Demonstrated ability to complete tasks in a timely, organized, and accurate manner
• Proven ability to work as a member of a team to accomplish goals
• Ability to represent YF in a courteous and professional manner
• This position involves driving YF vehicles; therefore, applicants must hold and maintain a valid US driver's license, and maintain a favorable driving record for insurance purposes
• A satisfactory criminal background check is a condition of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Yellowstone National Park
• Experience working in a non-profit environment
• Experience working in a warehouse setting
• Experience driving a delivery box truck

Compensation: This is a seasonal, non-exempt (hourly) position, which will be based in Gardiner, Montana. Compensation is based upon experience, pay range is $19.00 - $21.10 per hour, and typically is 40 hours/week. This position is not eligible for health, dental, and vision benefits. Employee housing is allocated by Human Resources.Housing availability:Shared employee housing is available to rent in Gardiner, MT on a limited basis. Our employee housing is limited as it is a 3-bedroom shared unit, with other employees and volunteers.
