Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits is currently seeking a Demand Planner - Import Brands who possesses the below qualifications. This role will report to the Director of Inventory & Logistics Planning and will be responsible for incorporating current and accurate market information into customer demand forecasts, which will provide the entire organization with the appropriate information to plan how to meet that demand. They will be responsible for updating and maintaining the various demand planning files that drive our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain unconstrained demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
  • Prepare for and support meetings with Sales, Supply Chain, and Marketing to better understand key demand forecast drivers
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Brand Managers, and Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts
  • Collaboratively establish, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); including forecast accuracy, bias and new product performance to plan
  • Analyze and improve forecast accuracy; effectively determine sources of error and implement appropriate improvement plans
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning department in aligning inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs including shipment forecasts by warehouse
  • Assist in implementation of demand planning software
  • Monitor SKU levels and provide input on the development and realization of inventory plans.
  • Generate forward demand forecast for supplier production for review with Director of ILP, including development of yearly obligation and track progress and projections throughout obligation timeframes
  • Regularly communicate with suppliers on current purchases, supplier inventory and shipping concerns
  • Regularly provide insights and implications of demand plan updates to ILP Director
  • Regularly communicate with the Supply Chain team on direct replenishment to distributors from supplier vs warehouse replenishment expectations
  • Ad-hoc analysis as needed

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of operations experience in high-volume consumer durable goods industry (demand planning experience a plus)
  • Bachelor's Degree Required (degree in Supply Chain Management a plus)
  • CPIM or Six Sigma Certification a plus
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
  • Ability to research & interpret information
  • Proven ability to flourish in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to assimilate and process data from a wide range of sources
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and knowledge of modern best practice methods
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer focused working environment
  • Strong MS Excel & PowerPoint skills (MS Access a plus)
  • Knowledge of JDE, SAP/APO, Logility or other demand planning software solutions is preferred
