Dementia Care Aide - Homestead : Job Details

Crystal Creek Senior Living Community in Canton, MI is hiring Dementia Care Staff!

We are looking for friendly, caring individuals who will treat our residents like family! As a care staff and med tech, you will be helping our residents with their daily care as well as assisting with their medication administration. Shifts available: 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM

Responsibilities:

• Assisting residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, and walking.
• Passing medication is a primary responsibility along with hands-on care to each resident.
• Engaging clients in meaningful activities to stimulate cognitive funtion and emotional well-being.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping.
• Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to the supervisor.
• Administer medications and injections to residents based on medical charts.
• Following schedule, and assisting residents with repositioning.
• Follow procedures regarding documenting medications.
• Utilize good judgment in providing client care and safety.
• Assisting other team members with their duties.
• Complete all required documents and charting.
• Answer call lights and assess residents' needs.
• Obtain meal trays and assist with eating.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience working with the elderly and dementia care.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Every other weekend is required.
• A positive attitude and the ability to arrive on time for every shift.
