Job Description The role of the Product Marketing Technical Specialist is essential to customer understanding of our IV solutions through product demonstrations. The ability to learn new, complex technologies and to think creatively on the job is a key success factor. Unique to the marketing function, this individual will manage and perform all technical aspects of the hardware and software infrastructure for IV Solutions for Omnicell's product demonstrations. Provide technical product consulting as necessary. This includes the planning, development, implementation, upgrade, training, and support of mobile truck product demonstration systems, trade show demonstration equipment, virtual demonstrations, and the Executive Briefing Center(s). KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Manage and support equipment in the Executive Briefing Center(s). Implement / Update Briefing Center equipment, as required.
  • Develop methods and techniques to reengineer product offerings for mobile, web and EBC demonstrations and tradeshows to support custom needs of marketing and sales.
  • Keep equipment in an operationally ready state for tours of the EBC for employees, customers, and business partners. Provide assistance and guidance to the demo staff during the demos.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and updates of demo and training equipment. Train distributors, technical and Sales and Marketing demo staff on usage of the equipment.
  • Upgrade, Test, and Implement products at tradeshows, including on-site support. Work with Marketing on plans for required products and booth design.
  • Manage the ongoing update of software and hardware releases for all of the above systems. Develop and execute ongoing project plans. Create product demonstration and training systems for new products in a timely manner, as they are brought to market. These tasks must be accomplished by working closely with Software Development, Engineering, Production, Marketing, Operations, Training, Documentation, Sales, Product Support, and various other departments within the organization.
  • Conduct demo equipment staging and testing.
  • Integrate process improvements to create consistent, high quality, demo and training systems.
  • Create and maintain demonstration and training data scripts using SQL, JSON files and other programming languages as needed. Coordinate with Clinical personnel (Nursing and Pharmacy) to provide clinically appropriate data.
  • Work with the Shipping and Logistics Team to manage the packing and shipment of products to field demos, tradeshows, other Omnicell facilities, and major customer demos. Coordinate with logistics, drayage and freight companies as necessary.
  • Provide support for customer-facing demo and training activities, including being available on an off-hours basis, in order to cover activities in other time zones.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education/Training:
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency on personal computers and laptops, with specific knowledge of the various Microsoft operating systems (Windows 10+, Windows Server - all versions) and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio) and SQL Server
Business Experience:
  • 5+ years experience in technical support, technical project management, or product development role.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of SQL.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of systems architecture, virtual machines and networking.
  • Experience with performance improvement techniques related to operating systems, databases and software application tuning.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
  • Strong communication skills; excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of SQL stored procedures, utilities and program scripts.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects and project deliverable timelines.
  • Understanding of product marketing and positioning strategies.
  • Ability to learn new, complex technologies.
  • High level knowledge of electrical circuitry and service.
  • Background with electro-mechanical systems and how to troubleshoot and repair them.
  • Knowledge of working with barcodes and barcode scanners. This includes their creation for labels and documentation. Should also have demonstrated knowledge of how to program a scanner.
  • Knowledge of working with network based (IP) cameras.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Computer Science, information Systems, or Business Administration is a plus.
  • Previous Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
Other:
  • Must be a self-starter in all aspects of the job.
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs
  • Must be able to provide support for long periods of time for tradeshows (once a year).
  • Must have own transportation in order to move between the Cranberry Woods and Thorn Hill facilities.
  • 20% travel required.
