Dental Assistant
Northern Counties Health Care is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dedicated team. This position will require travel between our two dental clinic locations in Orleans, VT and Hardwick, VT. As a key member of our dental care team, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienist to deliver high-quality care, ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the dentist during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and preparing necessary setups.
* Take x-rays, impressions, and assist in creating and seating/cementing temporary restorations.
* Support the dental hygienist as needed and contribute to patient education.
* Prepare solutions, pour dental models, and construct mouth guards and fluoride trays.
* Maintain accurate documentation of clinical activities and relevant patient information.
* Clean and sterilize instruments, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.
* Participate in the ongoing quality assurance process, assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of dental service protocols.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental lab area.
Qualifications:
* Education: High School diploma or GED required. Completion of a certified course in Dental Radiography is preferred. CPR/BLS certification required.
* Experience: One year of experience in a supervised dental practice setting preferred.
* Skills: Proficiency in computer skills, including email functions, spreadsheets, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment are essential.
