Monday - Thursday; 6:00am - 4:30pmThe Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting.Essential Duties:•Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments•Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory•Operating radiographic equipment•Administrative tasks as neededQualifications•High school diploma or GED equivalent required •Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant required •Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one required•Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment •Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred •Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening•Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)•Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background checkindmhm
