ELIGIBLE FOR SIGNING BONUS

Part Time Dental Hygienist - Fridays Only

We are looking for an enthusiastic hygienist to join our practice! We are a well established practice located in DuBois that believes in delivering the highest quality of care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque, and applying fluoride treatments
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care
  • Conduct patient assessments, including oral health screenings and reviewing medical history
  • Records and reviews patient medical histories
  • Charts conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist
  • Take dental x-rays as needed
  • Assist the dentist during procedures by providing instruments and materials
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes in dental software
  • Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
  • Stay up-to-date with current dental practices and advancements in the field
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and provide excellent patient care
  • Maintains dental equipment and sharpens and sterilizes dental instruments

Requirements:

  • Valid dental hygiene license
  • Associate's degree in dental hygiene or related field
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and dental procedures
  • Familiarity with medical records systems and electronic health records
  • Experience in dental assisting is a plus
  • Proficiency in aseptic technique and infection control protocols
  • Strong communication skills to effectively educate and communicate with patients
  • Attention to detail for accurate documentation and record keeping
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Skills:

  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Anatomy knowledge
  • Familiarity with medical records systems such as Dentrix and Opendental
  • Dental assisting experience is a plus
  • Aseptic technique proficiency
  • Patient assessment skills
  • Medical documentation skills
  • Medical coding knowledge
  • Infection control expertise

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, leaning and bending
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
