Job Summary:

Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead and supervise a project team of operators and drivers; monitor, track, and document performance; give feedback to employees; discipline behavior that does not meet project and company employment and safety policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Depackaging Facility Supervisor supervises the workflow of materials through the depackaging system concerning procedure, safety, budget, quality control, and productivity.
  • You will ensure the highest standards of environmental Safety and operational excellence by effectively managing the day-to-day operations of the Depackager and managing the costs efficiently within the operation.
  • In addition, the Depackaging Manager works with external service vendors and internal logistics personnel.
  • Daily reporting and meeting with the Area and Regional Managers.
  • Updates and submits required reports promptly.
  • Complies with OSHA and EPA regulations and ensures adherence to Safe Work Practices to encourage safe and efficient operations.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the equipment through daily cleaning, inspections, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Receives training in functions and operations of related departments to facilitate subsequent transferability between departments and to provide greater promotional opportunities

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of staff throughout the company.
  • Position requires proficiency in Word, Excel, and Access Extensive travel may be required depending upon the position.
    • Strong phone/email contact handling skills and active listening
      • Team player willing to help others as needed.
      • Familiarity with CRM systems and best practices
      • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different styles.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
      • Ability to quickly learn new computer applications and systems.
  • 1 year of experience in a supervisor or other management role requiring a thorough knowledge of safe working practices, OSHA, and other federal and state regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn depackaging systems and conveyor lines.
  • Mechanical knowledge is a must
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop, or stand for long periods
  • In addition, individuals must be able to reach above their shoulders and lift a minimum of 60 pounds.
  • Will be exposed to outdoor hot/humid and dusty/dirty work environments.
