This leadership position plays a crucial role in coordinating project work alongside our water/wastewater leaders and technical team. In this role, you'll be responsible for scheduling project teams, ensuring commitments and deadlines are met, optimizing team resources, providing technical training, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and mentoring technical professionals. You'll also play a key role as a liaison between company management goals and the technical team's project efforts. It's an exciting opportunity to lead and support our team's success! In addition to managing responsibilities, this Engineer/Department Manager will take on the roles of technical lead and project manager for medium to large-scale study, design, and construction projects in water and wastewater treatment. This includes handling storage, pumping, and distribution/collection systems. It's a chance to lead impactful projects and make a difference in our community's infrastructure!
Responsibilities: - Build strong relationships as the go-to advisor for our valued water and wastewater clients, and team up with our sales crew to bring exciting new projects on board!
- Dive into diagnosing, analyzing, and boosting treatment processes for optimal performance.
- Fine-tune treatment plant operations like a pro, from pretreatment to energy systems and everything in between.
- Evaluate assets and plan smart for the long haul.
- Master the art of hydraulic modeling for treatment and storage systems.
- Jump in with your expertise when utility staff need a hand in crucial moments.
Qualifications: Education - A Bachelor's of Science Degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering or related fields
- Current PE license
- 10+ years of experience in the water and/or wastewater discipline.
- Previous team leadership, management experience, and mentoring skills.
- Proficient in MS Office.
Other aspects: - Candidate must have a valid driver's license and be available to travel to job sites and client meetings.
- Occasional overnight travel will be required.
- Capable of working independently; minimum supervision required.
