Dewberry's Danville office is seeking a Department Manager to join our civil engineering team. The successful candidate will have supervisory, technical, project management, and market access responsibilities to lead experienced teams working across multiple markets in the private and public sectors.

Responsibilities
* Grow, mentor, and recruit staff
* Manage multiple complex projects.
* Assist with business development/marketing/proposal efforts.
* Work closely with clients including attendance at public and/or construction meetings and represent the company at other events as needed.
* Develop and implement quality control and quality assurance initiatives
* Establish/improve standards for department operation and workflow
* Ensure the department is equipped with the tools necessary to be efficient and thorough in producing the work
* Review department schedules for project assignments and priorities, delivery due dates, and workload forecasts
* Participate in Go/No Go decisions for project opportunities
* Participate in developing fee proposals and establishing project budgets
Required Skills & Required Experience
Bachelors Degree in civil engineering
Experienced and Licensed Professional Engineer
Accomplished (20+ years of experience) Licensed Professional Engineer; knowledgeable of construction process, familiar with construction contracts; self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Experience in staff management/department management. Well organized, with good understanding of civil engineering principles, design, construction documents and associated construction.
