This position serves as the manager for the Recruiting Unit of the Recruiting and Selection Section of the Organizational Development Division. The position will be responsible for directing and overseeing the complex work within the recruiting initiatives on college and university campuses which have a major impact on new programs, such as the cadet, internship, and explorer programs statewide. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining relationships, coordinating recruiting events on or around campuses; provides direction and guidance to staff and field recruiters in related activities and processes; ensures objectivity, fairness, and Equal Employment Opportunity in any recruiting processes; develops and leads the provision of training for recruiters across the department. This position also oversees and coordinates the Cadet program statewide as well as the internship program for the department.

The Michigan State Police (MSP) is a full-service policing agency with statewide jurisdiction, providing over 60 different services either directly to Michigan residents or in support of other law enforcement agencies. The MSP personnel most visible to the public are the uniform troopers whose primary responsibilities include traffic enforcement, crime prevention and investigation, and community engagement and service.
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certifications
Alternative experience qualifications of nonprofessional experience, previously identified by the appointing authority and approved by Civil Service, will be accepted as a substitute for the required classified, professional experience for the classification. The nonprofessional experience must be related to departmental programs and services that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Individuals appointed must possess the department-specific alternative experience for positions within that agency only.
This position requires passing a pre-employment screening, including passing a drug screen, criminal history background check, and a fingerprint check by the Michigan State Police.
