CSU Lexington Agency Website: www.vacourts.gov Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties The Deputy Clerk is assigned operation responsibilities in a high volume, fast paced office with frequent deadlines. Ensures courts instructions are executed and legal documents prepared with accuracy and in accordance with the state and local policies and procedure. Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Must provide excellent customer services in person and via phone. Assist and back-up staff when needed. Process all cases within the jurisdiction of J&DR court for pre and post court purposes. To include case entry, updating, scheduling and issuance of service to parties. Receipts payments, data entry, filing. Position requires meeting frequent deadlines in accordance with stator requirements; must be able to multitask and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management. Must be able to lift 15 lbs. occasionally, bending and stooping for filing purposes. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Most competitive applicants will have court experience, legal and judicial knowledge, and will demonstrate competence in the area of responsibility as well as automated financial and records management systems and personal computers. Must be detail oriented and have strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word is required. Additional Considerations College or business school courses are preferred. Must be able to lift 15 lbs. occasionally, bending and stooping for filing purposes.
