Job Description :
Role: Director - Digital Product Design, Agent Acquisition @ F100 InsureTech with diverse, friendly culture NOTE: this role is an even mix of Product Design and Marketing/Brand DesignLocation: hybrid in NYC, onsite 3x/week (Tues-Thurs) About our client:Picture this - a heart-led and empathy-focused company that's pushing the boundaries of tech and innovation, always pushing for the next big thing - that's also a venerable, 200-year-old, F100 InsureTech company, with incredible resources, culture, and support of their employees!Diversity and humanity are deeply rooted values in their company culture, and they care deeply about their employees and their user base. They have incredible benefits - including great health coverage, 6 month parental leave, and a pension, to name a few highlights. They have been named one of Fortune's World's Most Admired Companies , are in the top 50 companies in Forbes' 2024 America's Best Employers for Diversity , and received a score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index . As they are not owned by shareholders but rather owned by their policyowners themselves - they don't answer to Wall Street. So, they can truly take their time to invest in long-term projects that will fundamentally benefit their millions of users, as opposed to just getting things out the door for short-term profits to please their shareholders. So it's a really wonderful headspace to create in!They are in the midst of massive growth and expansion, both building out a bevy of 0 to 1 products as well as innovating on their legacy products, so it's a great time to get in the door to build impactful products at a massive scale.About the role:They're looking for an energetic, proactive Director of Product Design, Field Operations - which is their team that attracts and recruits financial agents and advisors to join their company - for their Center of Excellence within the Marketing team. You'll execute a strategic vision across end-to-end product design and marketing for a portfolio of digital experience in the Field Operations department, focusing on products that facilitate the successful hiring and onboarding of new agents and advisors. This is not largely a hands-on role, although they do want someone from a Design background who can work in Figma as needed. You'll be tasked with directing the work of at least one design firm, and ensuring that their work is high-quality in its aesthetics and execution, while meeting company objectives, and you'll be running design crits for these agencies and, perhaps down the road, internal teams. There are no direct reports in this role, at least to start, but this is a leadership role all the same, in that you'll be leading by influence, overseeing 1 or more design firms' work, and driving initiatives from the top levels by way of the strategic partnerships you'll forge with x-functional stakeholders across the company. If Marketing and Human Resources had a baby gives you a good idea of the nature of these products - meaning, you'll be overseeing the creation of both:
  • compelling, visually arresting marketing websites to attract and engage new potential hires
and
  • And the heavy-duty product design behind those sites - complex forms submission and progress tracking, applications, data collection, etc.
Their agents are, in many ways, small business owners within the company, so the work you oversee is necessary to set up agents up for success through a highly engaging, immersive, multi-channel experience - while streamlining onboarding, training, and licensing processes. This role isn't just about aesthetics-although that's also a part of it. It's about weaving trust, clarity, and empathy into their digital experiences. Our client believes in ensuring user accessibility and inclusivity throughout all digital journeys, and you'll be entrusted to work on upholding this mission in every user touchpoint.Who's an ideal candidate for them?
