Position: Distribution Design Engineer

Locations: Battle Creek/Kalamazoo, MI

Duration: 6 month contact to hire

PR: $28-$36/hr

Must haves:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical or Civil Engineering or Associates Degree with working experience
• 1 year of prior relevant experience: working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company, performing design engineering

-OR could have: strong construction background, design work, civil engineering, electrical experience and programming experience

• Open to field work with travel in region (milage will be reimburse)
• Ability to work in remote setting and be productive on weekly metrics
• Strong previous experience with AutoCad or MicroStation Design software
• Interest in developing construction work packages for the electric distribution system using various software systems and construction standards

D2D: A company is looking for a Distribution Design Engineer to join their team. This engineer will aide in the upgrades of a major energy providers distribution grids. They will be in charge of scheduling and developing construction plans for the project work. This person will create work packages, create construction plans, bill material and will be in charge of the scope or work schedule. This person will be in charge of owning their own field work where they will be taking notes, pictures, measurements and will ultimately be in charge of the designing the project construction plans. The work will be developed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools, Work Management Systems (WMS), and other client systems. The project work will require performing engineering calculations that may include: structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, transformer sizing, voltage drop and flicker, and coordination of protective devices.

60%-80% Engineering and development of design packages for construction crews

Pay Rate: $28.00-$36.00 based on experience

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
