Designer - Colmac Coil Manufacturing : Job Details

The company is seeking a hard-working, creative, self-motivated individual to work in the Production Engineering Department. Regular shifts are Monday -- Friday with overtime as needed. Day shift hours are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, swing shift is 2:15 pm to 10:45 pm, and graveyard is 10:30 pm to 7:00 am.Responsibilities Include:Using SolidWorks to generate detailed models for submittal drawings, production build packages, and electrical drawings.Generating pre-purchased parts lists for the Purchasing Department.Resolving design problems.Reviewing and analyzing specifications.Specifying dimensions, materials, and procedures.Drafting technical details.Working with the applications engineers to solve issues and improve designs.Consulting technical handbooks and tables while in drafting phase.Providing design input on new and custom products.Creating and storing drawings electronically.Preparing variations of design.Understanding UL 508A.Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:High School Diploma or Equivalent.(2) Year Drafting Degree (preferred) or equivalent experience with Colmac products/practices.Critical Thinking --- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.Problem Solving --- Work through details of a problem to reach a solution.Decision Making --- Weigh the positives and negatives of each option and consider all the alternatives.Attention to Detail --- Not allowing anything to slip by unnoticed, the minutest detail is given full attention.Active Listening --- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Physical Demands: (S=Seldom 0-10%, O=Occasional 11-33%, F=Frequent 34-66%, C=Constant 67-100%)The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.Stand/walk (S), sit (C), bend/stoop (S), perform work from ladder (S), climb stairs (S), twist (S), squat/kneel (S), crawl (S), reach (S), work above shoulders (S), grasp (S), fine manipulation (S), operate foot controls (S), lift/carry/push/pull up to 50# (S) vibratory tasks (S), wrist (flexion/extension) (S).
