Desktop Support - Akkodis : Job Details

Akkodis is seeking Desktop Support for a Contract job with a client in Charlotte NC/ Plano TX. Candidates must have strong skills in Linux and MS Windows Server to handle tasks such as troubleshooting applications and managing network setups. Rate Range: $60/hour to $73/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Desktop Support job responsibilities include: Managing and supporting over 800 desktops, laptops, and approximately 700 HVDs across various environments, including PL1, PL2, and QA. Overseeing the setup, configuration, and network integration of new machines, including installing core builds, security patches, and platform-specific updates. Maintaining the Master Inventory sheet for all physical devices in the labs and ensuring accurate tracking of new inventory. Troubleshooting both physical and virtual devices that are inaccessible remotely, providing hands-on support as needed. Handling ticket requests related to machine updates, application deployment, and issue resolution. Supporting major projects like the Hopewell Consolidation Effort, which involves managing the relocation of lab equipment and ensuring continuity of testing and QA activities. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in desktop support or a similar role. Proficiency in Linux and MS Windows Server for application troubleshooting and deployment. Strong skills in network setup and peripheral troubleshooting, with experience managing large-scale device migrations and inventory tracking.
