Position: Desktop Support Specialist

Location: Onsite in Downtown LA

Duration: 6-month contract-to-hire

Pay Rate: $30.00-35.00/hr

Required Skills and Experience:

• 2+ years of experience performing onsite deskside support
• Strong tier 1 desktop support or light Tier 2 experience
• Experience supporting, updating, and installing for Windows, Mac, and mobile support
• Previous experience providing support to faculty, staff, affiliates, and guests both in person and remotely in a classroom or university setting.
• Basic knowledge of AV
• Previous experience utilizing products like Creston, Extron etc.
• Experience setting up AV solutions for townhalls, Zoom calls, breakout rooms, PowerPoints, etc. (Large Classrooms, Event Centers, Amphitheaters, or similar)
• Printer configuration, network connection setup, etc.
• Strong knowledge of cross-platform technical troubleshooting

Plusses:

• Experience utilizing endpoint management tools (JAMF, SCCM, Active Directory, Group Policy, etc.)

Job Description:

A Large research university is seeking a Desktop Support to join their team. Your primary duty is to provide endpoint support to faculty and staff by utilizing hardware, software, and troubleshooting expertise.

You will be responsible for providing deskside laptop and mobile device support in a classroom setting. Your responsibilities will also include connection setup and troubleshooting for multiple different operating systems (i.e., Windows, Mac, and Mobile), as well as email support (i.e., Outlook, Gmail). You will also assist with basic A/V technician support for the events team.
