Job Summary:
The IT Site Technician will provide technical assistance and support for incoming service requests/incidents related to computer systems, software, hardware, and infrastructure, both in-person and remotely, at a manufacturing facility in Oneonta, NY. This position may require on-call 24/7 coverage. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Microsoft-based applications, with a focus on Windows 7/10/11, MS Office suites, and cloud-based tools. The role involves diagnosing, resolving, or routing tickets accurately in line with documented processes. This position reports directly to the IT Site Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Active Directory Administration: Administer and maintain user accounts and permissions.
- Mobile Device Support: Provide limited support for corporate mobile devices.
- Cloud Applications: Assist with the use and troubleshooting of Microsoft and third-party cloud applications.
- VPN Connectivity: Troubleshoot Cisco VPN connectivity issues.
- Anti-virus Remediation: Resolve and minimize anti-virus threats across devices.
- Remote Support: Provide remote connection and troubleshooting support.
- Imaging & Deployment: Utilize imaging and deployment servers for system setups and rollouts.
- Asset Management: Manage the lifecycle of IT assets from procurement to decommissioning.
- Browser Support: Provide support for various browsers (IE, Chrome, Safari, etc.).
- Software Installation/Configuration: Install and configure various software packages, including security software.
- Printer Support: Troubleshoot, install, and configure printers and drivers.
- IP Telephony Management: Support IPT-based telephony devices, including configuration and troubleshooting.
- Ticket Management: Utilize ServiceNow or similar systems for ticket management and resolution.
- Hardware & Inventory Management: Order hardware and manage inventory, ensuring timely procurement and distribution.
- Mac OS Support: Provide limited support for Mac OS and hardware.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Documentation Management: Manage records, procedures, and documentation.
- New Hire Onboarding: Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
- Conference Room Support: Provide technical support for meeting and conference rooms.
- Vendor Engagement: Collaborate with vendors for IT-related needs.
- Project Participation: Contribute to IT projects and initiatives as needed.
- End User Equipment Moves: Facilitate disconnect/reconnect tasks for end-user equipment.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other IT teams to meet organizational objectives.
- Smart-Hands Tasks: Provide physical support for IT infrastructure, including cable management, hardware installations, and server reboots.
- Cybersecurity Mitigation: Assist with cybersecurity vulnerability mitigation tasks.
- Other Duties: Perform additional IT support functions as required by the team or facility.
Meeting Support:
- Work with the media team, corporate events, and IT to support meetings and resolve technical issues.
- Perform testing, monitoring, and analysis of technology performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Ensure smooth operation of conference room audio and display devices.
Smart Hands Support:
- Assist external IT teams with tasks such as patching cables, server reboots, and IT hardware installations.
- Provide physical support for IT equipment, including setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Provide remote console access and assist with vendor engagements as needed.
- Ensure discreet handling of business operations, maintaining confidentiality.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related experience in IT support.
- Technical Skills: Experience in hardware troubleshooting, software installation, and system imaging/deployment.
- Software/Systems: Familiarity with Active Directory, cloud applications, and VPN troubleshooting.
- Time Management: Strong skills in task prioritization and time management.
- Communication Skills: Advanced English language skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Organizational Skills: Effective organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage shifting priorities.
- Teamwork: Self-starter with the ability to work well in a team environment and motivate others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Smart Hands Knowledge: Basic understanding of network configuration and related smart hands tasks.
Hardware/Software Support: Experience with hardware/software installation, troubleshooting, and support in a manufacturing or IT environment.
Imaging and Deployment: Experience with deployment server setups and system imaging.
