What Success Looks Like In This Job The Desktop Support Technician I's primary responsibility is to provide hardware-level support for Adams County's computing infrastructure. This entry-level position will be responsible for maintaining end-users' computing infrastructure and resolving escalated issues from the help desk. This position will provide excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate in person and via telephone to troubleshoot hardware and software applications and programs and escalates as necessary to reduce downtime on end-user productivity. The Desktop Support Technician I's salary range starts at $31.562/hour or $65,648.80 annually. Examples of Duties for Success
  • Configure and deploy desktops, laptops, monitors, and related peripherals to end-users.
  • Provide on-going hardware and software maintenance to Adams County's computing infrastructure.
  • Facilitate warranty service where applicable.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, software, peripheral, and clinical application issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mobile computing and communications device issues, e.g. smartphones and tablets.
  • Acts as initial escalation path for issues that require advanced troubleshooting or work beyond established time frames.
  • Assist customers remotely over the phone, via remote control software, or in person.
  • Accurately and thoroughly record information into ticket tracking software.

More Qualifications for Success
  • Experience: One (1) to (2) years experience with technical proficiencies in desktop hardware and software applications, operating systems, and network connectivity.
  • Education and Training:
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
    • Associate's Degree in Computer Science is preferred.
  • License or Certificate: Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Driver's License.
  • Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Other:

    • Ability to travel to other facilities as required within the scope of the job
  • Physical:
    • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
    • Requires long periods of sitting at a desk, up to 8 hours a day.
    • Repeated movements including standing, sitting, kneeling, lifting, and bending in and around users' desks.

    • Weekly Hours - 30 or more
    • Break in Service Requirement - 13 weeks
