Job Summary

The Development and Communications Coordinator is responsible for engaging donors and promoting the organization's mission through strategic marketing and communication efforts. This position supports the Director of Development with fundraising campaigns, events, and volunteer coordination in Georgia and South Carolina. The Coordinator assists with content creation for social media platforms, gathering impactful stories for newsletters and campaigns, and helping to enhance public visibility. The Coordinator contributes to the organization's long-term donor engagement and growth by assisting with tracking donations and providing timely acknowledgments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and nurturing relationships with existing individual donors, focusing on engagement and retention.
  • Support the identification and initial engagement of potential new donors.
  • Support the development and implementation of donor giving plans, including recurring giving programs and major gift initiatives.
  • Help execute individual giving campaigns, such as direct appeals, Giving Tuesday, and digital micro-events.
  • Help create social media content to promote fundraising campaigns, events, and organizational updates, ensuring consistent brand messaging across platforms.
  • Gather stories and testimonials from those we serve and families we've impacted to create compelling content for newsletters, and social media.
  • Assist in designing and distributing marketing materials for fundraising campaigns and events, including flyers, emails, and online advertisements.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of events, including fundraisers, community outreach programs, and employee appreciation events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, business, marketing, human services, nonprofit management, or related field required
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant fundraising or communications/marketing experience.
  • Ability to contribute ideas for marketing campaigns, content creation, and fundraising strategies
  • Flexibility and the ability to adjust to variable priorities
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the 2-state area of GA and SC (estimated 20% travel)
