The Arthritis National Research Foundation (ANRF) mission is to provide initial research funding to brilliant, investigative scientists with new ideas to cure arthritis and related autoimmune diseases. Since 1970, the Arthritis National Research Foundation has funded arthritis research to understand the causes, prevention, and development of new treatments for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, juvenile arthritis, and other autoimmune diseases. The Arthritis National Research Foundation provides arthritis and related autoimmune research grants to scientists at major universities and research institutes across America. Two-year arthritis research grants allow these newer scientists to develop their important research to a stage where it can be continued and further supported by other national agencies.

Position:

Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, the Development Coordinator is critical in supporting the continued growth and improved efficiency of fundraising efforts at ANRF. This position is responsible for providing gift entry and prospect research. The Development Associate will manage the flow of constituent and donor information, update the development database, support document processes for gifts, assist with the processing of credit card transactions and remote check deposits, and process gifts and other database maintenance projects as needed. The Development Coordinator will also provide tactical solutions for implementing database-related tasks. This position is responsible for supporting the Development Department's prospect research needs including building donor profiles and completing regular wealth screenings.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

• Input, code, and process all financial gifts, including matching gift requests and payments, contributions from individual donors, donor-advised funds, gifts of stock, as well as contributions from workplace giving campaigns.

• Working closely with the Development team to ensure timely portfolio moves and solicitations.

• Supporting the communication and stewardship of the monthly sustainer program

• Responsible for answering main phone line and directing donor/vendor calls to appropriate team members

• Assists the Director of Individual Giving and other portfolio managers in grant writing and prospecting as needed

• Under the direction of the Director of Individual Giving, help to maintain the overall integrity of the CRM database (EveryAction) and oversee data entry to ensure that donations and donor information are processed and entered into the database promptly and accurately

• Perform monthly giving program account maintenance adjustments, including upgrades, downgrades, refunds, termination, thank you gift selection, payment information updates.

• Perform data hygiene practices including: working alongside the Director of Individual Giving to clean the database and outline new processes, weekly contact de-duplication, and re-coding or removing any bad data

• In conjunction with the Director of Individual Giving, help to manage the data maintenance and reconciliation of ANRF's various donation funnels with the CRM

• Align CRM work plans and system development changes to accomplish strategic plan goals, with regular reporting on goal progress and achievement

• Documenting database processes and complying with best practices in database management.

• Work with the Finance Manager on end of month financial reconciliation for all donations collected during the previous month

• Provide customer service to donors with membership account inquiries and follow up on donor needs/concerns in a timely manner

• Pull donor prospect research and propensity/wealth screenings on a regular basis to support the work of the Director of Individual Giving and the CEO

• Work collaboratively across the organization and individual departments to advance ANRF's collective fundraising vision and goals

• Other assigned development duties; occasional travel on nights and weekends

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in the maintenance of large constituent data bases.

• Prior experience with nonprofit CRM databases (EveryAction preferred) required

• Prior experience with gift processing required

• Knowledge of nonprofit finance basics

• Ability to manage donor data and related CRM tasks with minimal to no error

• Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing

• Excellent data, analytical and problem-solving skills

• Record of showing initiative and independently setting up effective systems and workflows that meet outcome expectations in quality and timeliness

• A self-starter, data and deadline driven, and ability to multi-task with solid organizational and time-management skills

• Strong work ethic and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work

• Strong experience with MS Office Suite of tools especially Excel

• Strong knowledge of non-profit database functionality and data hygiene practices encouraged

• Ability to handle several projects simultaneously and re-prioritize as needed
