Position Summary

World Monuments Fund (WMF) seeks a qualified professional for the role of Development Coordinator to contribute to our global, creative, and inclusive team. The individual is a key member of the Development team, supporting all fundraising efforts to advance the organization's mission by assisting with donor engagement, operational systems, and administrative tasks.

Reporting to the Vice President of Development and Partnerships, the Development Coordinator works closely with all members of the Development team, supporting operational, institutional, and individual functions and at times serving as a liaison between other departments. The ideal candidate will be a flexible, positive, pro-active individual with excellent organizational and communication skills.

This is an exempt position based at WMF's global headquarters in New York. All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Administrative Support

  • Manage the departmental calendar including weekly team meetings.
  • With the Vice President of Development and Partnerships, schedule and coordinate Development Committee and donor meetings, including preparing agendas, creating presentations, and taking minutes.
  • Manage the Development Department's administrative functions (i.e., subscriptions, online tools and resources, contracts, expenses, and Charity Filings).

Donor Engagement & Stewardship

  • Assist with the preparation of donor communications, including acknowledgment letters and updates.
  • Coordinate donor recognition efforts and ensure timely follow-ups for gifts received.
  • Provide departmental support, as needed, with CRM data entry, gift processing, and gift acknowledgements, as well as targeted donor research.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Represent the Development Department within the organization, liaising with the Special Assistant to the CEO and other departments as necessary.

Development Events & Meetings

  • Manage the administrative needs for Development events and meetings; provide support as assigned for special events such as the annual gala, donor receptions, and membership events.
  • Organize and inventory printed and other materials such as brochures, pamphlets, and signage for Development events and meetings.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in development or similar office environment
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Computer fluency in Microsoft environment (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); strong database skills (Raiser's Edge preferred)
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to articulate complex ideas clearly, accurately, and concisely.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to working with staff at all organizational levels.
  • A team player with a willingness to help others.
  • Ability to compile, report, and analyze information succinctly.
  • Ability to work occasionally in the evening and weekend events.

Compensation

World Monuments Fund offers a comprehensive and highly competitive compensation and benefits package, including paid time off, wellness and sick time off, holiday time off, and a multitude of other insurance benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a fully comprehensive retirement plan.

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $67,500 annually, based on commensurate experience.
