Check out a short video from last year's Dream Camp to see how our team changes the lives of individuals with disabilities: ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6XeZJuvxPU.Position Description:Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Development Manager is responsible for managing Adaptive Sports Ohio's philanthropic and outreach activities by developing and fostering relationships, enhancing public awareness about Adaptive Sports Ohio's programs, and ensuring organizational financial stability over short-term and long-term operations.As a member of the leadership team, this is a high-stress, fast-paced position that helps set the direction and momentum of organizational advancement and growth.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide general oversight of all of the organization's development activities, and manage the day-to-day operations of the development function.
  • Oversee and execute all fundraising and outreach events.
  • Develop and oversee campaign and event budgets.
  • Implement an annual donor engagement, communication and recognition plan.
  • Establish performance measures, monitor results and assist the CEO, advancement committee(s) and Board of Directors in evaluating the effectiveness of the organization's fund development program.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and build the skills, knowledge, and abilities of Adaptive Sports Ohio's staff and Board of Directors to assist in development activities.
  • Assist with the development of advancement committees for key regions and serve as the chair of those committees.
  • Develop, edit and/or review written proposals, letters and other communications for national organizations, sports teams, individuals, corporations, foundations and grantors in conjunction with the CEO.
  • Assist with grant research, monitor grant deadlines, and collaborate with key team members to collect impact metrics.
  • Represent Adaptive Sports Ohio at events, conferences and other networking opportunities, as well as prepare and conduct presentations.
  • Stay informed of developments in philanthropy and fund development, and apprise the CEO and Board of Directors on current trends, issues, problems and activities in order to facilitate policy making.
  • Adhere to the highest ethical standards in management, governance, and fund development.Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, maintain accountability standards to donors and ensure compliance with code of ethical principles and standards of professional conduct for fundraising executives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Flexible and adaptable in work schedule and work assignments as defined by organization and program needs. Some nights and weekends required.
  • Demonstrate a passion for furthering Adaptive Sports Ohio's mission.
  • A strong and effective storyteller/narrator who understands the vision and values of Adaptive Sports Ohio.
  • Persuasive writer with excellent writing and editing capabilities.
  • Ability to adapt and complete complex tasks.
  • A professional liaison and confident team member who can maximize partnerships and relationships.
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proven success at creating resource development strategy, increasing financial results and improving relationships.
  • Effective communicator and administrative staff collaborator.
Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of professional development experience with a proven track record of success in fundraising, including securing major gifts.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Platforms (Drive, Docs, Spreadsheets) and Salesforce.
