A 98-year-old manufacturer of cast steel valves, our client is looking to train you to be a skilled machinist / programmer based on your military experience. In this role you will learn to operate a 3-axis CNC Vertical Turning Center, an Okuma model VTM-100, and a new Okuma horizontal lathe with conversational interface.What you will do:- Learn how to write and understand programs based on blueprints - Proficiency in shop mathematics- Learn programming ability on older Fanuc controlled lathe (g code, m code)- Learn and perform machining calculations- Learn setup and operation of conventional lathes, drill press, and milling - Use calipers and take careful QC measurements- Work with tight tolerances- Learn to design and build fixtures for CNCCNC Development Program, 30+ an hour no experience required, bonus, phenomenal union benefits
